SOPHIE BELLAMY
British Soprano, Sophie Bellamy graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in June 2024, attaining a Master in Music, having studied under the tutelage of Wilma MacDougall and Cameron Burns. Previously, Sophie completed a BA in Vocal Studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, while studying with the late Professor Mary Brennan and Dr. Dearbhla Collins, graduating with First Class Honours (2022).
The 26 year-old currently works in the Opera chorus of the Landestheater Linz, where she is regularly invited to sing solo roles alongside the ensemble. Next, Sophie looks forward to making her role debut as Glasha in Janáček’s Katya Kabanowa in April 2026. Previous roles with the Landestheater Linz include, La Zia, Madama Butterfly, Specht / Eule (cover), Die gerissine Füchsin and Geisha 1, in Sidney Jone’s operetta The Geisha (Season 24/25).
Alongside performances at the Landestheater Linz, Sophie made her role debut as Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Vienna Opera Festival in July 2025. Her other roles include Dido, Dido and Aeneas, and Waltraute, Die Walküre. In opera scenes, Sophie has performed, Elettra and Fiordiligi (Mozart), Fox, The Cunning Little Vixen (Janáček ) and Arabella (Strauss). Sophie is enjoying building up her repertoire as a young lyric-dramatic soprano.
