British Soprano, Sophie Bellamy graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in June 2024, attaining a Master in Music, having studied under the tutelage of Wilma MacDougall and Cameron Burns. Previously, Sophie completed a BA in Vocal Studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, while studying with Professor Mary Brennan and Dr. Dearbhla Collins, graduating with First Class Honours (2022)

 

The 26 year old currently works in the Opera chorus of the Landestheater Linz, where she is currently singing the role of La Zia in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly (Season 24/25) . Further engagements at the Landestheater Linz (24/25) include Specht / Eule (cover), Die gerissine Füchsin and Geisha 1, in Sidney Jone’s operetta The Geisha. Sophie’s other roles include, Dido, Dido and Aeneas with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (2024) and Waltraute, Die Walküre with the Dramatic Voices Program Berlin (2023)

 

Next: Sophie looks forward to participating in the final round of the Belvedere singing competition in Bern, Switzerland (June 2025) and to performing the role of Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Vienna Opera Festival (July 2025)
